The British High Commission represents the British Government in its relations with the Namibian Government and promotes British interests in Namibia. It fulfils the following functions in the various sections:

• The Consular Section provides advisory services and assistance to British Citizens in Namibia.
  
• It issues British passports, and registers births and deaths of British subjects in Namibia.
  
• Our partner the British Council in Namibia is the UK’s international organisation for educational and cultural relations.
  
• British Council projects connect people worldwide with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK and build lasting relationships between the UK and other countries.
